James J. (Jim) Hilton

For the last thirty years, Jim has assisted financial institutions transform their operations to adapt to changes in the marketplace. At Promontory Financial Group, he assisted clients develop enterprise-wide risk management programs, enhance corporate governance, and respond to regulatory changes brought on by the 2008 financial crisis. From 2017 through 2020, he was responsible for Promontory’s operations in the Americas. Prior to joining Promontory, Jim worked with the Prebon Group, where he developed and implemented trading technologies for the wholesale voice-brokered markets. He served as General Counsel to Chicago Board Brokerage, the first electronic marketplace for U.S. Treasury securities.

He began his career as an attorney with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Jim is a graduate of Harvard University, where he majored in Slavic Languages and Literature, and Boston University School of Law.
